1980’s Bill Blass Coat, Melanie‘s 1970’s Brocade Caftan, 1980’s Metallic Threaded Scarf, 1970’s Cowboy Boots

This is what I wore today. The caftan once belonged to the 1970’s singer Melanie. There are quite a few dealers at our local flea market who buy unpaid storage space goods and I am almost always ecstatic to buy from them, as quite a few celebrities live in and around Nashville (and don’t pay their storage rent). I don’t know what happened in her case, but I’m grateful to have gotten my hands on it! The coat is 1980’s Bill Blass and one of my most favorite things. It instantly took this bag lady look and made it more chic, no?

Now, onto the winner of the CCV Winter 2011 Lookbook Giveaway!

There were so, so many lovely entrees that it was so hard to choose! The one that really got me though… sheesh. She transported me from my warm bed (with my adorable boyfriend eating peppermint ice cream, our nightly winter tradition) and into a boat on the Mississippi river, half-naked in the 1920’s Teddy on a honeymoon. Congratulations, Victoria! The runner’s up were the hilarious Rebekah, the nostalgic and hopeful Jenny Z. and the comical Lauren-The-Cool.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to all who entered! The overwhelming response means the world to me!

I’ll leave you with this song on this lovely Christmas evening…

Awe, I’m a runner up! So close!
Ah well, congratulations Victoria!

And for everybody, Happy Christmas!
Or Happy Hannukah! Or Happy Holidays, for any other winter celebrations.
Or if you celebrate nothing, Happy Winter!
Unless you hate winter.
In which case, I hope you find something you like about it, but if you find that impossible, Happy… Life?
(Just covering all bases.)

I’m assuming it is some other Victoria?. . .congratulations to her.

Aww, Victoria/Justice Pirate, it was another Victoria/Tori! I’m so sorry for confusing you. There were quite a few entrees with the same names… I think there were like four Laurens?

Anyway, thank you for taking the time to enter and Happy Holidays!
